| I have been working with Callidus floor planning software for nearly 7 years now. I have estimated everything from standard broadloom carpet to very intricate, multi-colored, mosaic floor and wall tile lay-outs. I've been awarded contracts based on my ability to quickly alter an estimate, due to last minute changes by a building owner. I no longer stress about addendums; I can change a carpet selection from a no-pattern broadloom to a complicated pattern of choice, just by keying in the specific pattern dimensions, selecting the "Quantify the Materials" button and double checking my seams. Changing a large entryway from a 12"x12" straight-lay tile to an ashlar 12"x24" tile takes less time than it took me to type this sentence. Professional, accurate, color seaming diagrams can be produced in minutes and either printed or sent via email to the architect without having to break-out the colored pencils. Matching roll stock lists used to take up a lot of my time. Using Callidus, I key in the available roll sizes and select "Quantify the Materials", and double check the seams. It's that easy. Callidus helps keep the salespeople happy too, by my ability to turn around a set of prints much more quickly than I could before.
For me, it all comes down to this: I can produce a higher quality estimate in less time, provide an accurate, full-color, easy to read material report, and make the inevitable changes quickly and accurately. That translates directly into increased profits and limiting my company liabilities.
